Over the past couple of years, Pioneer Unit has built itself into Cape Town’s strongest independent hip hop label, having signed the likes of KONFAB, Ben Sharpa and Driemanskap amongst others.
As we get into the ’09 rap season, the Unit gears up to push Rattex, one of its many shining stars who signed in 08.
Taking over nine months to complete his album "Bread And Butter", it was mostly produced by Dplanet, but includes music from producers such as Nyambz, Hipe and Planet Earth.
With 3 videos out, ‘Bread And Butter, The Government’ and ‘Get Down’, as well as spins on community radio stations, the Unit plans to shoot videos for most of the album.
