Over the last few months, Cap City has been buzzing with hip hop sessions hosted by independent record labels with performances by upcoming artists.

On the 17th of June at the urban chill spot ZanZu in Hatfield, local record label Late Knight Records hosted the Hip Hop Hurray party to celebrate hip hop culture and its growth in Cap City.

The show had a decent turn out even though the crowd was not too receptive to their taste of local hip hop. The event kicked off with an open mic session which showcased some of Cap City’s underground headz shredding the mic.

Performances by Lyrical Eye, Soprano, Mamelodi native Katz as well as other emerging Cap City artists got the crowd jumping again with their mostwako style which was very well received.

On the decks, Majic held it down with dope hip hop to end off a nice effort to keep hip hop alive in Cap City.
