Hip hop veteran and reality TV star Coolio, real name Artis Ivey, was arrested last weekend at Los Angeles International airport and charged with possession of crack cocaine and battery.
Coolio is reported to have been on his way to Oklahoma to perform alongside Tone Loc and Shock G of The Digital Underground. Before boarding the flight, the 45 year old rapper was asked to go through security screening and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.
Coolio allegedly got physical with the security screener and was arrested with an extra charge of battery being added to his offence. He was then released on $10, 000 bail. The Grammy winning artist faces a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison and is scheduled to appear in court on 13 April. – Van Go
