After three months of back and forth comments criticising each others style, Joe Budden has finally decided to put his rhymes where his mouth is and dropped a freestyle diss aimed at Wu Tang veteran, Method Man.
The cause of the beef came after Vibe magazine published a ‘greatest rapper alive’ in late 2008 and placed Mef at number 9, and Joe Budden at number 32. A series of internet interviews hurling insults at each other then followed, which has progressed to the Pump It Up rapper dropping the freestyle diss.
A short snippet of the diss includes the following lyrics: “Brand new, I ain't got a scratch on me/So what's your squad gon' do/Lay a hand on me, I'll lay a hollow on you/Chain snatch, tap his pockets, take his wallet/Go through every club in New York and pop bottles on you...Got beat up, ignored in school/Signed a deal, n*ggas thought you was cool...Got all them years rapping, nothing else happening/You need a day to day, old heads, with no other way to get paid.”
